3. Q: Why the page yield of compatible toner cartridge is lower than the original？
A: OEM cartridge is rated for a certain number of pages at 5% coverage in which would be comparable to a brief memo or small body of text etc. As most users print pages with more graphics, gray scales and large amounts of text, that results in more toner powder (about 7% coverage in average) being used to print the images.Moreover, the actual page yield and rated yield are often varied from different operating environment. If typical users print at 7% coverage, then the page yield has been already reduced by about 40%. If OEM cartridge is rated for 10,000 pages, you will most likely get around 6,000 pages from aftermarket cartridge in average.
